Mission Statement

The mission of the Tri-County Diabetes Alliance is to raise awareness and improve the health of people with diabetes and those at risk for developing diabetes by creating and sustaining an effort to inform, educate, and assist individuals to improve their health.

Organizational Structure

The goals of the Tri-County Diabetes Alliance are to identify and educate individuals at risk of developing diabetes in the tri-county area, and to develop programs that will help individuals with diabetes reduce their risk of developing medical complications associated with the disease.

The Subcommittees for the Alliance and their function are as follows:

Business:  To identify area businesses that would be receptive to
distribute ADA Diabetes Risk test to their employees.

School: To determine effective methods for educating both youth and
parents about healthy lifestyle practices including healthy eating,
physical activity, and behavior modification strategies.

Faith-based: To identify churches that would be receptive to
distributing ADA Diabetes Risk tests to their members.

Outreach: To focus on developing an annual plan for health fair
participation and diabetes road show implementation.

The Tri-County Diabetes Alliance  sponsors and conducts several health education and outreach programs addressing prevention of pre-diabetes and diabetes. This will include presentations and free health screenings in a variety of settings including schools, worksites, faith based communities, and other community centers.
